Every Tuesday, I will be highlighting a different Tarot card from the Rider Waite tarot deck! This week's card is.....
The Emperor is shown sitting on his throne which is adorned with rams, a symbol of Mars (mythology). In his left hand you will notice him holding a globe which is a symbol of domination, and in his right hand, an Ankh. He's sitting on his throne high upon the mountaintop, overseeing all. He's the absolute king and ruler of everything. He strongly represents the male ego in its purest form.
Fun Fact: In most decks, the Emperor is depicted as an older man (wisdom, longevity). He's rarely depicted as young and virile.
Upright Position: authoritative, wise, important, strong, solid foundation
Reversed Position: huge ego, domination, controlling, stubborn
