Tarot Tuesday ~ The Fool

Every Tuesday, I will be highlighting a different Tarot card from the Rider Waite tarot deck!  This week's card is.....

The Fool is the first of the 22 Major Arcana cards in the Rider Waite deck.  The imagery consists of a young man looking rather dapper, walking along without a care in the world, yet you can see he is about to step right off a cliff!  His little dog seems to be either trying to warn him, or mocking him - I'm not sure lol.  He carries with him a white rose, which is a symbol of freedom and innocence, as well as a bundle of his worldly possessions which symbolizes his knowledge.

Fun Fact:  The Fool is also referred to as The Jester.

Upright Position:  innocence, fresh start, beginning a journey

Reversed Position:  being naive, reckless or foolish
