Tarot Tuesday ~ The Magician

Every Tuesday, I will be highlighting a different Tarot card from the Rider Waite tarot deck!  This week's card is.....

The Magician is number I of the Major Arcana cards in the Rider Waite deck.  Notice the infinity symbol above his head as well as the ouroboros belt, both symbolizing eternity.  He is standing amongst flowers, which represents the cultivation and manifestation of one's desires.  In his right hand you can see that he's holding a wand toward the Heaven's while his left hand points toward the earth.  This is symbolic of bridging the gap between the two.  On the table in front of him are representations of the four elements of earth, air, fire and water.

Fun Fact:  The magician's wand is white - a recurring theme in tarot, representing purity, innocence and spirituality

Upright Position:  power, skill, resourcefulness and spiritual knowledge

Reversed Position:  manipulation, untapped or wasted talent
