The Lovers appear naked and vulnerable and are blessed and protected by the angel in the clouds above them. There are symbols of Christianity present - the female is depicted as Eve, with the pomegranate tree behind her and the serpent looking on. Behind the male figure you can see flames, which are a symbol of passion.
Fun Fact: The Lovers is associated with the star sign Gemini (Twins).
Upright Position: love, relationships, harmony, balance, passion
Reversed Position: disharmony, imbalance, lack of passion
